Today, now more than ever, this is true for our students inside and outside the classroom. Preparing students for the real world is the goal of “teaming” each and every classroom with a business partnership. Work experiences, apprenticeships, job shadowing and field trips also expose students to a wide range of careers available to them. One that will never be accomplished if we try to work, teach, and learn in isolation. Our goal is to prepare every student for the world of work, a certificate, or a 2 year or 4 year education post high school.
The Osage Community School District offers career and technical programs in the following areas of study:
- Agriculture Education -Full time teacher with college level classes CASE
- Business Education- Full range of classes and college
- Family and Consumer Science Education
- Advanced Manufacturing (Industrial Education)
- Health
- Automobile/Mechanics (Industrial Education)
- Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering and Computer courses
My educational background includes graduating from Turkey Valley High School, and BA from UNI in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education, my master’s degree is from Viterbo University, my principal certification if from the Iowa Principal Leadership Academy and my ED Specialist Degree is from UNI.
My vision for the future of the Osage Schools is that not only do ALL of our staff members work closely together, but students, parents, and the community work in collaboration with the schools as well. Our mission will never be accomplished if we try to work, teach, and learn in isolation. I encourage you to become an active member of Team Osage!
